Sponsorship is a mechanism whereby provision of supplementary support to families from the most marginalized communities and children without parental care in particular to meet educational, medical, nutritional, and other needs of their children with a view to improving their quality of life. It is a conditional financial assistance to enable children who were at risk from being removed from school and sent for work, to continue their education.

WHAT IS SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM?
SCOPE
Child Sponsorship is one of the primary programmes through which Murali Krishna Trust receives funds to implement its child centred development programmes. Moreover, child sponsorship programme provides the opportunity for individuals/sponsors to increase their awareness of global issues and understand the larger issues of poverty and discrimination affecting the children and their communities.
THE PROGRAM
- Identifying and enrolling children from the most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, especially girl children who are the most discriminated against.
- Making extra efforts to enrol children with special needs, those with multiple vulnerabilities and disadvantages. Conscious efforts should be made to ensure inclusive enrolment process without any discrimination or barriers.
- Participation of children and parents, and the larger community. It is a process of empowering children and their parents with opportunity to reach their full potential and have a better life.
The intervention is focused on the supporting the vulnerable girls and boys to access quality education through which they break the vicious cycle of poverty for their better tomorrow.
ENSURE CONTINUUM OF EDUCATION
MKT with the collaboration of its partners supports the study of many boys and girls who have recently finished high school and who would like to continue their studies and enrol at university.
Often their economic conditions prevent them from accessing the University: this is the reason the School 4 Future program was born. It offers the opportunity to continue studying, to attend university, graduate and enter the world of work.
The scholarships are offered exclusively to the most deserving students, who have distinguished themselves for their excellent academic performance. Our goal, in fact, is to give the possibility to those who have the skills but not the means, to cultivate their talent and to graduate.
